Hi Cousin James,
Sarah Clapp's mother Margaret (Loy) Clapp was first cousin to my ancestor John Henry Loy.
While visiting in Salt Lake City last month, I found some Parkhill information at the library there. Until then, I only had the names of Sarah's husbands.
The 1850 Graves Co., KY census gives Caleb and Sarah with children Sarah, Mary, Martha, Adilee [?? illegible female name], Newton, John, and Benjamin. All surnamed Jones, with Ferdinand Parkhill also in household. From the ages, I would say only Adilee and maybe Benjamin were Caleb and Sarah's together, if any, and Caleb was married prior to Sarah. Do you know who was his first wife? Next household to Caleb and Sarah were Burton and Julia Cochran with Caroline Parkhill, age 19, and Alfred Parkhill, age 12 in household.
In addition, I found notice of 28 September 1900 newspaper (Mt. Vernon Signal, Mt Vernon, KY) that in Pine Hill, Rockcastle Co., KY a Dr. Parkhill, a Stanford physician, was to move there soon and set up practice. Which Parkhill was this? I assume probably a descendant of John and Sarah?
