My aunt, Vera Parkhill Johnson of Wenatchee, WA, was the family historian for the Northwest Parkhills from about 1950. She has traced our line back to David Parkhill, b Ireland 1724, emigrated to America at age 16 in about 1740 with siblings Nathaniel, Hugh. James, and Jean(Jane). There are a whole lot of Parkhills in Washington state. She is now deceased, and her daughter JoAnne Stevens, has been keeping the books. Unfortunately, she started this effort in the age of typewriters and carbon paper. Vera visited a lot of the other branches before her death, such as Ohio. My son, Andrew Parkhill, (amnparkhill@hotmail.com) and I (vinifera9999@yahoo.com, vinifera9999@hotmail.com) are beginning the effort to convert the old Johnson geneology to a searchable database. Any contributions, whether paper or electronic, will be greatly appreciated. We have always been a little suspicious about the shipwreck story. I sincerely hope someone in Ireland and Scotland can follow the line back to Antrim and Derry, the merchant of Glasgow Robert Parlhill, b 1585, the Lands of Parkhill, the enclosure Parkhill from 1067 and so forth. I never did care for the thought of being a French swimmer. Are there any cousins named Parkhille or any of the other variants? All emails gratefully received and answered. Thomas R. Parkhill. b 1938 Notify Administrator about this message?
