We may have a connection, my grandfather came from Lovinac to DeKalb Illinois about 1910. We're not sure as he died in 1918 in Helper Utah - but he was a coal miner. We know nothing about his family. When his wife immigrated 1912, she had her brother in law and son Mile with her, George or Joseph - I can't read the hand writing. I have been searching for many years and can't find a relative on this side. Anything sound familar to you?
It seems a lot of miners came from Croatia to work in Rockafeller's mines in Colorado and New Mexico. His wife was Maria Tomicic/tomich born in the same place, Lovinac. Her brothers immigrated during different years and ended up near Rock springs WYO.
Any conversation will be helpful.
