Stan, Donna,
As promised - a reply by mid-week.
I've checked notes and records and spoken to tracked-down Paylor 'persons.'
You need to speak to MARY SWIFT (Paylor) who lives at 151 WATLING STREET, near ATHERSTONE, TAMWORTH, ENGLAND ; TELEPHONE ENGLAND 01827 716405. Sorry - no Internet availability or E-Mail - She is able to explain/confirm/correct details from early 20th century regarding Tamworth Paylors.
Mary is very well versed with the family history of the Tamworth 'Paylors' so make contact asap!!
Of interest : (i) Your Great Grandfather DID work for Sir Robert Peel - in his estate's dye works
(ii)You mentionted that your grandmother and her sister married two brothers. Your grandmother's sister was EVA, mother of MARY (SWIFT)who will give you the full details of the last many years.
(iii)I am still woking on HARRY PAYLOR. He came from a small village called MIDDLETON, near Malton, North Yorkshire, England. I am trying to 'tie' him in with many possible relatives. I will contact you as soon as confirmation is received....

Family searches - just like a jigsaw!!

Hoped to have been of help,

Kevan (Paylor)
(Amateur but very keen !!!)
