Hi, I am an 8th granddaughter of John and Mary Peatross. Can someone check and see that his grandson was Daniel Martin Pettry. What was the reason for their child's last name change? Were these Cherokee Indians in VA?
Matthew Peatross born 1740 in VA married Jane Rayburn
Daniel Martin Pettry was born to them 19 Jan 1757. This is a mystery to me because my mom is a Pettry.
Please help me solve this dilema, thanks anyone!!!! Debbee
