Your great great grandfather, John, born 1836 in Alsace, which is close to Starkenburg, or Stienfurth, Hesse, where my great great grandfather, Friederich Balthaser was born 25 May 1836. There could be some connection if you can go back further ( I have records dating back to 1694) I assume that there were many Pfeiffers in the area and I want to find the link to those that were related and went to America.
