Hi Sharon,
I can not add much to your search. Church records have towns where immigrants were born. I hope to look at some German records this winter to try to decipher some of the Poraths in Kreis Regenwalde and will keep the given names in mind from your family. You might want to get the microfilm for World War I draft records if any men who emigrated were of draftable age. These records might give information on village of birth, a physical description, and where they were working at they time they registered.
