My late mother, Lucille Pospeck Mitchell, recalls that her mother, Catherine Marczewski Pospeck, used to read letters from Catherine's "brother-in-law in Pennsylvania" when my mother was a little girl. My grandfather John Pospeck became an iron-ore miner in Bessemer, MI. Their marriage certificate spelled his last name as "Pospech." My uncles all changed the spelling of their last names early in this century to derivations of same, some of whom added an "r" to Prospeck, Prospect, etc.; but the girls all kept "Pospeck." Does anyone have any knowledge of your family links to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan?
