If you have traced to New Castle, 1701, I am suspicious that this line originated in New Sweden, aka Fort Christina, Wilmington DE, emigrating from Sweden in 1654. Altho I do not find a Jasper, he may be a renamed Mullica. About this time the patronymal name Palsson, (use was discouraged), was amended to provide a family name. Malich, meaning "little" was bestowed on Pal Jonsson,(Malich), the father of most of the the subject early Delaware families. These included Anders Palsson aka Andrew Poulson, Eric(k) Palsson Mullica, (derived from Malich) and others, Andrew moved to Cecil Cty, MD in 1661. Eric moved to the Little Egg Harbor area of NJ, on a river now named the Mullica.

Eric(k)'s sons founded Mullica Hill, NJ. At about this time, many in the family returned to using the name Paulson/Poulson/Palsson for subsequent their family name. Some retained Mullica.
