Hello Everyone! I was wondering if anyone had some insight on a little mystery. My husband's great-grandmother's name was Alice Premo. With a little bit of digging in the 1900, 1910, and 1920 censuses I found out that her parents names were George and Maria PRemo. Her obituary says that her parents were George Premo and Maria Van Cour, which was confirmed by her one living remaining daughter. Now for the mystery. On Alice's marriage certificate, it states that her name is Alice Campbell in one place and Alice "Premo" Campbell in another place. And further more that her father was George "Premo" Campbell. We asked Aunt Pat about it and she vaguely recalls that a Campbell might have been a step or adoptive father to George. Anyone have any insights? Thanks!
