Hello,
We are also researching the Prinkey family of Pa. We are tied in through Preston Ellsworth Prinkey b. 1894 who married Elizabeth Ellen Albright. Preston's father was Jacob Murray Prinkey who married Anna Savannah Hall. Jacob Murray Prinkey's father was Silas Prinkey b. 1835 who married Margaret Kearn. I believe Silas Prinkey's father was George Washington Prinkey b. 1808 in Turkeyfoot twp., Somerset County, Pa. and died in West Liberty Iowa in 1894. George was a son of John Pringey and Abagail Rhodes.
The story we have is that John Pringey was an English sailor who returned home to England and found his family dead and his house burned. He then came to America and settled in Drakestown where he changed the name to Prinkey. If you have anything related to these individuals, We would sincerely appreciate it. We are currently trying to obtain as much information as possible to be included in a book for all Prinkey family members. Thanks, Scott.
