Hi there,
I have an Edward Quayle who appears on the 1841 census as being 45 years old and not born in Lancashire. He was married to Elizabeth and living on Silver Street Manchester. I believe he died before the 1851 census. His children were George born 1838, Robert, Edward born 1840, Ann, Jane & Eizabeth. I have sent for Edwards birth certificate (watch this space).
I think I have found Elizabeth his wife in 1851 visiting George Sherlock of Hulme (so you could say she was in Sherlocks Home!! LOL) she is described as a 52 year old widow born in the Isle of Man.
George married Mary May at the register office Manchester in 1855.
