From the April, 1931 American Rifleman magazine, an obituary for Dr. Philip P. Quayle as follows: As we go to press we learn (but without any particulars) of the recent deathe of Dr. Philip P. Quayle, who left the Bureau of Standards two or three years ago and joined the research laboratory staff of the Peters Cartridge Company. Dr. Quayle was perhaps best known to our readers for his interesting and illuminating spark-photography of firearms in action and of bullets and shot charges in flight.
