My Mum moved to Canada when she was 19 or so and she married a Scottish guy with the last name Mackie.
So taking on a different last name she lost the will to find out any history about her last name and the origin of it. If you have any knowledge of it or think you might be a family member please e-mail me. It would be very helpfull for me to have some knowledge of my family in England.
My Mum grew up in Reading, Berkshire, and then i belive she moved to Compton.
Her father and mothers names were Daphene and Harold, sadly my grandfather Harold passed away about 4 years ago and my grandmother is still living.
