Hi Vicki, I have been collecting info on my Brühl family from Biedenkopf, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany from a person who has been translating German Church records which were filmed by the Latter Day Saints. These records date back to 1717 when the vicarage burned (along with most of the town). My direct line of Brühl's migrated to Maryland in 1886. Some earlier relatives were related to Conrad Raab born about 1800 in the town of Inheiden, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. He married Susannah Reitz and they had a son named John Raab. He was born in Inheiden in 1837, but married Anna Elisabetha Vomhof in Johnstown, Cambria Co., PA. Anna was from Biedenkopf and came to America with her relatives which included Vomhofs and Unverzagts. A son of John was also named John Raab and was born in 1865. This John married twice...one wife was an Unverzagt and the other was named Yutzie. I am trying to find some info re the family of Raab in Johnstown since it seems that quite a few were killed in the flood of 1889. If interested, I would gladly exchange info re the Raab's.
