Stella Violet RABIDEAU and Clarence FILKINS

I am looking for information on my g-g-g-grandfather who was born in New York approx 1830. I believe his name was Charles FILKINS. He married a woman (maybe with the last name BAXTER, of Illinois) prior to 1857.

My g-g-grandfather's name was Fred FILKINS, born in 1857, probably in Illinois, maybe in St. Charles (according to his obit). Fred may have lived in St. Charles until about 18, shows up in Beadle Cty, SD in 1880 Census as a laborer (railroad builder I think). He married Anna WILSON of Winnesheik Cty, IA in Aug. 1883 in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Gladstone, Delta Cty, MI in 1887 and lived there until his death in 1921. Fred and Anna had 5 children: Clarence, Mary (married Willis SWEIGERT), Hellen (married Marcus MCFARLAND in 1913), Charles, and Florence (married Charles JOHNSON abt 1918).

Clarence FILKINS married Violet RABIDEAU in 1905 in Perkins, MI. They had one son, Lowell, my grandfather. Violet passed in about 1912 (Seattle, WA area I think), Clarence passed in Feb. 1916 in Superior, WI. Lowell lived with his Fred and later with his aunt in Channing, MI. Lowell FILKINS later lived in Milwaukee, WI raised 4 children with his wife Mildred, and passed away in 1986.

If any of this sounds familiar, please drop me a line. I’d love to hear from anyone who might be able to fill in some of the holes in my knowledge.
