We are searching for a direct-line male descendant of William Raborn b. abt 1784 in SC to participate in the Raburn (of all spellings) y-DNA Project. William Raborn married Susannah Lovelace and they had eleven children, including sons Henry (abt 1810) Benjamin Lovelace (1815) John L. (1821) William M. (1830) Joseph Elijah (1831) Elihu Allen (1833) and Simeon (abt 1834.) After many years of researching William and Susannah Lovelace Raborn, it is our theory that he was descended from Joseph R. Rayburn whose will was recorded in Edgefield, SC in 1793. DNA testing has already proven a relationship between some well-researched lines to Joseph and we believe a participant from our line would match those participants. Please contact me at esleslie@bellsouth.net if you qualify to participate in the Rayburn y-DNA project as a male direct-line descendant of William and Susannah Raborn, or if you would be willing to donate towards the cost of testing for a qualified participant.
Evelyn S. Leslie
