Looking for Robert Rabern (many different spellings), son of William Raburn and Eliza Hobbs Raburn, born April 1, 1843 in Kentucky (?). The story is told that his father was believed killed along the trail to Santa Fe when Robert was young. He and his widowed mother set out on foot for Mercer, Mo. He opened a trading post in St. Joseph, Mo. with a mountain man named Robidoux. Later went to Nebraska and started a freighting business. There he met and married Elmira Faulkner, daughter of Robert and Sarah Ann Howell Faulkner, June 25, 1866/67. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated!
