Does anyone know the meaning of Jacques' dit names? I would be most interested to know if they had meaning or were just names. I cannot find a translation, but maybe some of our French speaking cousins have an idea. I would also be interested in the correct pronunciation of the dit names. Also, my understanding is that you would say; Jacques RACICOT said as LÉVEILLÉ or TIXIER. Is this correct? Idea's anyone?
