George and Harriet Rainer in NY 1820
Posted by: Tony Rainer Date: June 05, 2001 at 16:56:06

Does any one in USA know of George Rainer, a merchant of New York and married to Harriet de Bowen, whose son John Cragin Rainer was born in New York in or about 1820? JC Rainer went on the stage as a minstrel and brought his company 'Rainer's Original Ethiopian Serenaders' to Sydney, New South Wales (Australia) in 1852 (from San Francisco). He died in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) in 1889 (aged 69). If so,
(a) When and where did George and Harriet Rainer die?
(b) Did they have any other children of the Rainer (or Rayner, Raynor) name?
(c) When and where were George and Harriet born and who were their ancestors?
(d) Did George and Harriet leave New York?

Waiting to hear from you on this site or at:

Tony (Anthony) Rainer
Melbourne, Australia
