I have a copy of a 1958 letter from Dr. Clarence Rainey, an opthmologist from Evanston, Illinois, that tells about Alexander Campbell and Jenny Smith who eloped from Scotland sometime before the Am. Revolution. They settled somewhere near or in Beaver Co. PA and in ca. 1820 one son, Jesse Campbell married MARGARET RAINEY, the daughter of WILLIAM [ he and two brothers came from near Belfast ca. 1792 ] RAINEY, married at Beaver Co. Jesse's sister Elizabeth married James Rainey. Jesse and Margaret moved to Ohio and had 12 children in several counties, my ancestors settled around Guernsey County. Like to locate any relative of Clarence or anyone with info on these Campbells and Raineys that settled in Guernsey Co. in the vic. of Cambridge and Antrim. Try at this e-mail or at P. O.
