Dear Mary/
i belive we have chatted before about the Rainey/Raney clan, Ill refreash your memory how this ties into what i belive u are looking for. My fathers real mother was Emma Lorain Rainey. Her father was Joseph H. Rainey,he was born in 1867 in Decalb County Tenn. His father name was Stephen A. Rainey, Now this is the ? that I belive u answers for. On the 1880 cencus of Pleasent Run Township I found William age 71 and his wife Kisiah age 61. well i did some math and it came out Kisiah cant be Stephen's mother. Stephen was born in 1828and Kisiah was born in 1819. And William would have been 23 years old in 1828. So there is your answer, and my great grandfather Stephen has to be Williams son from a previous marrage but who is the mother is the Mystrey now
From the Raney/Rainey Clan
of Lawrence county Ind.
Brad Raney
