Alexandra, I too know how confusing this is. My Aunt Catherine was supposed to be born in Italy my mother was told she was born on the water now I don't know if your heading towards a country and are born in international waters if your birth records shows what ever country you were going to.I have not been able to find any record of her birth in the U.S. or a passport. The 1920 cenus of Brooklyn states she was born in Italy. She was the 2nd child born, now I need to know where their passports are as they where already traveling with a toddler.I really get confused with all this. I think we need to know the laws of the sea on women giving birth on there way to another place. If you find out please let me know.I do know my grandparents names Vito Randazzo and Anna Giametta Randazzo. They had 2sons and 4 daughters one being my mother who was raised in a boarding school as her mother died when she was an infant.Grandpas brothers were Thomas and Barney, sisters were Frances and Catherine, their dads name was Guiseppe Randazzo. If you find out any info. or have a question for me let me know. Yvonne
