Sorry, I did not see your post earlier. I consider myself the keeper of the Rape family genealogy. All I know or at least I think what I have is correct is that Avelena Blaylock Rape was born 24 July 1873 and died 19 Oct. 1918. Is this correct? I don't know the names of her parents, but if you can give me that information I will be grateful. Also, I think her husband, Marion J. "Bud" Rape was born 6 May 1864 in Alabama and died 12 Feb. 1910, I assume in Wood County, TX? I have a list of their children but my data on them is not complete so if you have any information on the children and grandchildren etc. of Avelena Blaylock Rape, I would like to have it for the Rape record. Further if you have contact with any of the grandchildren of Avelena Blaylock Rape who might have any passed down information on the parents of Avelena Blaylock Rape's husband, that would be most welcome by me. I know his father was Thomas Rape but what I want to know is what was his middle name? Also, are there any photos in custody of any of Avelena Blaylock Rape or her husband or their family members. I know that this family came to Texas probably in 1879 from Tallapoosa or Coosa County, Alabama by Oxen pulled wagon, according to some family tradition. But I would like to know more of the family traditions passed down to the descendants of Marion J. Rape. I believe he was a half brother to Augustus Daniel Rape, whose descendants mostly carry the name spelled Rappe. One of their family members years ago told me that a younger brother (Josiah Parks Rape) of my great grandfather, John Augustus Rape, visited with Augustus Daniel Rape after moving to Wood County, TX. This great-great uncle of mine is buried in Wood County. His wife Nancy had a very tall tombstone placed at his grave..but at this moment, I cannot remember the name of the cemetery. John V. Reeb
