Nancy,

Do you have information on the parents of Sylvanus? I received information that says his parents were John Rayburn and Mary Parrish who were married about 1740 in VA and had three children, Silvanius/Sylvanus, Thomas, and Mary. Mary was born May 12, 1757 and married Elijah Gillespie. They had many children, but named two of them John Rabon Gillespie and Mary Parrish Gillespie. There is supposedly information about Sylvanus and Thomas in Surrey Co, NC records regarding land purchases etc. This is all second-hand info. Would like to find someone who has documentation of this information. Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated.
