Waes thu Hal! (Anglo Saxon for "Drink to Good Health!") My name is Michael Lee Rayborn Jr. I have done much research into the linquistic roots of the name Rayborn which in turn lead me into a deep study into Anglo Saxon History. The "Ray" is a river that flows through central Mercia (a "state" in England) and it dates back to the rule of the last pagan (a non-Christian follower of Woden, the god of wisdom, inspiration, mysteries, war, as well as the "divine ancestor" of the the modern English Royal Family) king Penda (a possible ancestor of the Rayborn lineage...he was, after all, "born of the Ray" I would also like to point out that many Scandinavian immigrants came into England from the sea into this river). In any event the Angles and the Saxons were tribes that invaded Briton and renamed it England (Eng/Ing was a pagan god of fertility, wealth, and peace). These German raiders drove the Celtic Britons into modern day Wales. I mySelf have rejected the practice of Christianity and has returned to the Elder Troth (the Anceint Way) of my Anglo Saxon Ancestors. The Gods and Goddesses that I give honor to are Woden (the Alfather), Frija (Woden's Wife), Tiw (the Sword-God of Honor and Law), Thunnor (Storm-God/Hammer-Weilder), Sibb (the one with the Golden Hair, Thunnor's wife), Ingui-Freo (peace, wealth), Freia (love, witchcraft), Eostre (dawn, springtime, and rebirth), as well as the Sun, Moon, and Earth. I also honor the spirits of the earth such as the elves, dwarves, huldre folk, nisse, nixies, and so on. All of these beings live in the great Irminisul, which is the World Tree which holds together all existance. Within the World Tree is a wholistic veiw of how consciousness (the inner world of the Self) interacts with Nature (the outer world that the Self interacts with). All these different aspects of the Self and Nature are connected with Divinity, which expresses itSelf as a great myriad of gods, spirits, giants, and so on. In the elder tennents of how our ancestors lived (morally and ethically) they would be best described by the Nine Noble Thews (honor, courage, stength, freedom, ancestory, kinship, vigor, and realism) and the Six Fold Goal (Wisdom, Rightousness, Might, Love, Peace, and Wealth). I hope that any Rayborn reading this will find this informative..... Welga! (Anglo Saxon for "Good Bye!") Michael L. Rayborn Jr., a.k.a. Isenwulf (Anglo Saxon for "Iron Wolf")
