Quote from Anglo Saxon Roots by Michael Lee Rayborn Jr. "I" mySelf have rejected the practice of Christianity and has returned to the Elder Troth (the Anceint Way) of my Anglo Saxon Ancestors. The Gods and Goddesses that I give honor to are Woden (the Alfather), Frija (Woden's Wife), Tiw (the Sword-God of Honor and Law), Thunnor (Storm-God/Hammer-Weilder), Sibb (the one with the Golden Hair, Thunnor's wife), Ingui-Freo (peace, wealth), Freia (love, witchcraft), Eostre (dawn, springtime, and rebirth), as well as the Sun, Moon, and Earth. I also honor the spirits of the earth such as the elves, dwarves, huldre folk, nisse, nixies, and so on. All of these beings live in the great Irminisul, which is the World Tree which holds together all existance. Within the World Tree is a wholistic veiw of how consciousness (the inner world of the Self) interacts with Nature (the outer world that the Self interacts with). All these different aspects of the Self and Nature are connected with Divinity, which expresses itSelf as a great myriad of gods, spirits, giants, and so on. My reply, to Mr Rayborn's message: I believe this is a genealogy forum, not a pulpit to preach your beliefs. Everyone is free to choose their religion but they are not free to impose it on others. Let's stick to genealogy, shall we. Mr Rayborn's Reply to me: Most people that research their geneology are curious about their background, so therefore 'I rationalized' that it was appropiate to talk about the pre-Christian roots of the Rayborn lineage. I never said "hey, convert to my religion!", it was more like "hey, did you know that our ancestors beleived "a" before there was "b"?". If I offended you then it is based on your own personal prejudices/preconceived notions and is of no fault of my own. GENEALOGY A record of ancestral descent; family tree. The study of ancient family. PREJUDICE An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand without knowledge of the facts. Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race or religion. I had no intention of starting an on line battle but by the same token, I won't be ridiculed either. I still say this is a genealogy forum. By the above discription this relates to the history of people who are no longer living, not opinions of researchers.
