Has any male Rayburn (any spelling) had their Y-DNA tested? Seems with so many of us with so many different spellings it would be helpful to begin determining which ones have common ancestors? I had my Uncle do the DNA test to document our particular line of Raibourn. I think one person has done the test with Family Tree DNA Company who spells his name Raburn. My Uncle's apparently did not match him unless he has his set on private which would not allow comparison to others doing the test. Our line goes back through Thomas Sylvanus Raibourn, Thomas Raibourn (m. Mildred Thompson), and Sylvanus Rayborn. I know that different branches of all these men used different spellings of the last name so the spelling adopted means little in terms of which are related and which are not. I wonder if there is enough interest to form a Rayburn/Raibourn etc. Surname DNA project under the auspices of Family Tree DNA Company? Notify Administrator about this message?
