From Ripley Co Cemetery Records, compiled by Violet Toph A Large Cemetery on The Old Ditch Farm The Old Ditch Farm is about 2 miles east of Westfork church on a branch of Indian Kentucky Creek, about three miles southeast of M------ville, Ind and about 4 miles southwest of Benham, Ind. and not far from the Jefferson county line. There may have been a church here at the time, but nothing definite has been learned as yet. At one time Ditch's settlement was quite a village with a large grist mill known as Ditch's Mill. ABCD Ditch Henry died Mar 29, 1844 aged 61y 2m and 20 d Ditch Elizabeth, wife of Henry Ditch, died Jan. 31, 1831 aged 44y 8m and 6d Ditch In Memeory of Catherine, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Ditch who died Mar. 20, 1831 aged 10y 1m and 22d. Ditch Jeremiah died Jan. 5, 1856 aged 32y 6m and 11d G Gavin Sallie Jan. 11, 1825 Nov.30, 1872 H Higbie Rosa A. March 28, 1866 April 1, 1875 M McBride ?Sarah A. died (the rest was weathered off) a large tree was ____ growing on the grave beside the slab marker. M---- "Milly O. M." was scratched on one limestone marker. McCullough David died June 1, 1863 aged 72 y, 7m, and 18d. McCullough Sarah C., daughter of David and McMcCullough, died Oct. 25, 1857 May John May 20, 1765 Jan. 15,1823 also May Jane, wife of John May, June 10, 1763 July 16, 1816 May In memory of William May, who was born Dec. 28, 1830 and died July 16, 1832 May Nancy, wife of William May, March 13, 1807 March 5, 1892 May Richard died Sept. 6, 1851 aged 52 yrs. and 11 days. May Enoch M., son of Richard A. and Nancy May, died March 8, 1857 aged 16 yrs. 8m, and 16 days. R Rabourn Ralph died Nov. 25, 1832 Rabourn Nancy, wife of Ralph Rabourn, died Nov. 16, 1839 S Salyers William Nov. 10, 1818 March 15, 1885 Salyers Jeremiah died July 23, 1863 aged 72y 6m and 23d. The worker, Violet E. Toph, was greatly aided in securing the data for the above cemetery and for the Jacob Overturf cemetery by Mr. Milt Geisler and his brother Mr. and Mrs. Harry Geisler.
