Need help on constructing family tree on Howell Adams Rayburn and Elizabeth Loving. Hoping to find someone with info on their children that did not migrate to La. with their widowed mother Elizabeth Loving Rayburn. I find James N. Rayburn son born ca 1826 listed in 1850 LaFayette County Ms. Census as 27 year old farmer born Ms., wife Minerva J. 25(surname unk.) born Tn., and children Martha A. 1, and Sarah C. age 2 months. In 1860 same location i find James N. Rayburn age 36 Music Teacher, wife Minerva no longer in family, Martha age 11, Sarah age 9, and son William age 7, and James sister Rebecca Rayburn age 32. I have read where James died about 1865 from wounds suffered during Civil War, but don't know exactly when and where. Does anyone know if 3 children reached adulthood and had descendants? Also did Rebecca ever marry and have descendants?
Next child of interest is Sarah J. Rayburn born about 1831 in Ms. Have not located, and possibly married and moved to Ala.
Next child would be Nancy Rayburn born about 1833. Have nothing on her.
Thanks in advance for any help. My grandmother was Lizena Rayburn Tilley, daughter of John T. Rayburn and Ophelia Jones, John T. son of Howell and Mary Ragland, Howell son of Noah and Elizabeth McSwine, and Noah son of Thomas and Rebecca Adams, and Noah brother of this Howell Rayburn. Just trying to fill in all the blanks on my whole Rayburn clan.
