Rector Family Genealogy Forum

Hi! Could the George in your posting be the George I seek? The first Rector to pop up in Nova Scotia is my ancestor but the trail goes cold at him. Given that period of history we believe strongly he was a Loyalist and entered Canada post revolution. Here are the basics....George Rector marries a Mary Sparks (believed Anglican service) on March 21, 1791 in Parrsboro, Cumberland county NS. But how did he get there? In all of the maritimes there is only one other Rector who appears during this post revolutionary period...a Frederick Rector is granted land in 1784 in Sunbury County near the Saint John river in (then NS, now considered NB). Could be the same guy re: middle names. We can't find any futher detail or evidence of Rectors prior to what we have. Your George's birth date would put my George as 22 on marriage and a good bet. Do you have any further info? Would dearly love to hug the person that can pull this disappearing George out of their family hat! Many thanks for reading this. Hope to hear. Fingers crossed and much luck on your family trails. Anne
