Karen, I have a copy of the entire history of the Rector family that traces the family to Hans Richter,born in 1550 in Saxony, Germany. The first record of them in America is in Orange Co., Va. where they came as miners to help the governor of Va. develop iron deposits. My great-great-great grandfather was James Rector, born in Prince William Co., Va, who migrated to Grayson Co., Va. where my family stayed.
