Hi Ann, thank you for replying to my mail. Deborah Huffman was married to William Ireland 14 Dec 1818 in Blount County Tennessee. William and Deborah are the parents of Evalyn Ireland Rector, Charles Rector's third wife (I think).
A story I have heard told by Meler family in Oklahoma is that Charles Rector drowned with his brother "Jim" while crossing the (Arkansas?) river on horseback. I have not been able to find any documentation about the drowning incident or anything about his brother, Jim.
I'm amazed after all these years, still not to have found any information around Charles' family. Maybe the James you found married to Sally Loveland in 1839 was the brother "Jim"?
