Elias Rector b c 1805 KY in gold fields as miner in Mariposa Co, CA in 1850

Trying to find out who the Elias Rector living in CA with other men in the gold fields in Mariposa, CA in 1850. The age and birthplace of this Elias Rector do not match the famous man from Arkansas, but is he a relative? Living with this group of men is a man RCS Brown born about 1794 in TN, who appears to be the same RCS Brown who was the Cherokee Agent in Arkansas in 1848. I think my greatgreatgrandfather, John Jones, is also living with this group of miners in household 499 in the county. Does anyone know if this Elias Rector is the same person as the one in Arkansas and is the RCS Brown the Cherokee Agent also from Arkansas? Trying to figure out if John Jones is related to any of the folks at the mining camp.
