John Polk REDMAN line
Posted by: GeneREDMOND (ID *****4718) Date: May 24, 2008 at 09:44:14
  of 2099

a) Some say that a William REDMAN had a son named John Polk REDMAN, Sr. who was
n=19 Oct 1772 VA,Westmoreland-Co d=08 Apr 1806 TN m=Frances=Fannie (unknown).

b) Some say that John REDMAN, Sr. m=Ann RICE were the parents of
John Feldman REDMAN, Jr. n=19 Oct 1772 d=(17 Mar 1805 or 17 Mar 1835 ?) m=???

Please note that both of these John REDMANs have the same birth date of 19 Oct 1772.

Please let me know if anyone has any supportive documents to prove which case is accurate.

Alternatively if any male descendants from these lines are
interested in doing a DNA test then that would clarify the situation.

option (b) is descended from the immigrant John REDMAN=REDMOND=RODMAN
m=Mary (born an ALLEN but adopted her stepfather's surname of HARRIS).
We have 2 samples from this line in our REDMAN dna project.
So a match would prove that option (b) was correct.
And a non-match would support option (a).

If anyone is interested in taking a dna test, please visit
