John L. Redman War of 1812 SC-AR
Posted by: John Markoe (ID *****9160) Date: July 14, 2009 at 12:09:06
  of 2060

John L. Redman received 120 acres in Searcy Co AR in 1860 based on service in Lieut. Colonel John Ashe Alston's 3rd Regiment South Carolina Militia. He was a private in Captain Ford's Company. Warrant number 54841. In same Company was a William Redman.

Why it took him 45 years to get the land I don't know.

This is the John L. Redman shown 1850 and 1860 Searcy Co censuses. His daughter, Mary Fredonia, married Ben Bratton Jr and his son, John Jr. married Dorcas McLerran.

Land record is at http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/PatentSearch/Default.asp?Tab1=2&f1=AR&f2=&f3=
