I think the following reference is related, don't you ?

1818/01/21 John REDMAN, Jr. of SC,Spartanburg-Co (heir of John REDMAN, deceased)
sold to Bennett WILSON for $100, his rights to land from the estate of John REDMAN.
(signature) John REDMAN
(witnesses) James HAMMETT & Sterling REDMAN

1817/08/07=witnesses oath

These are the dates I have in my notes & I realize that it looks like there is an error
but I have not gone back to check the dates ... probably one year was transcribed incorrectly.

If you don't already know about this connection,
I can supply about half a dozen more references like that above.
