Nancy, Nancy Thanks so much for writing! I have been to Nelson County this week (Tuesday), but was in the library on the microfilm reader in the Catholic Advocate all day), have you been in the new library yet. Sounds like you have been to Bardstown, Co. clerk's office. The records are still my favorite place to go. Seems like lately I've been following up when someone comes to visit in the ATHS library that is distantly kin to my husband, Joe. Tha'ts when I got back to the Metcalfs and Redmans (on his mom's side), and then I had to quit to do the quarterly. Then, this past weekend a distant kin to Joe's Rachford/Miller/Barnes lines (this on his dad's side)was in the library, thus the trip to Bardstown tracking down those Barnes (which by-the-way, seem to be connected to the Redmans too) more about that one later. Ha. :)) So here you are this am, and I've been wanting to get that Metcalf/Redman folder out all week. I had to stop and screw my head on differently after I read your letter. Wow, you found it in the deeds!!! I'm always telling other people to look in the deeds, often times we can find our proof there. So, I thank you, and now I'll have to be sure to go back, possibly on Friday, that's tomorrow. Thank you, thank you, thank you. FOLLOW THE LAND.
