Greg,

Just saw your message. The Matthew Redmond that Virginia referred to did not marry or have children. His uncle, Daniel Redmond, did have a son named Matthew who was born in 1874. He married, moved to Brooklyn, and had two sons, Joseph and Alexander. His wife died before 1910; I have no further info. So it doesn't look as if there is a direct connection. If you find out more info I would be glad to hear of it. My great grandmother was a sibling of the Matthew Redmond that Virginia mentioned.
