First of all, as it turned out Greg's ancestor Daniel was the brother to my ancestor John Redmond. John and Daniel married sisters, Margaret and Annie (Joana or some variant) McDonnell. Their father was Alexander Redmond, and their mother may have been Joana Redmond. The Redmonds came from County Wexford. The McDonnells probably did also, as the tale goes that the family met for the first time on the boat coming over, but they came from the same town. This was around 1867.

You can see their 1870 census info in Whitemarsh Township, Pennsylvania.

Have lots of info on the Redmonds and McDonnells, but nothing more about Ireland.
