I never thought a number of years ago that I would research myself into a mystery. My grandfather, Raymond A Kelley and his sister first come into existence in documents in the 1910 census. Prior to that dater, I have three photographic views that show Raymond A Kelley as a very young boy. The sister is in the 1910 census Margarite Kelley. When Raymond A Kelley was young, his name was Redmond Augustus Kelley. His parents were according to family tradition known as Peter and Jennie Kelley. Yet, can not find Peter Kelley what so ever. The first census I discovered Jennie Kelley was 1910. This census was an eye opener. In the 1900 census there were two children: James Redmond born Nov, 1890 and Maggie Redmond, born September, 1885. Both of these dates fall into place for "Pearl" Margarerite Kelley and Raymod A Kelley, earlier known as Redmond Augustus Kelley. These two children in the 1900 census were listed in the St. Joseph's Orphan Asylum. This may be a stretch, but I have a hunch that these two children are those who are listed as being part of the St. Joseph Community. Any help on this will be appreciated.
