My wife's grandfather was John James Redmond b. Oct. 18, 1869 in England ( possibly Liverpool ) d. March 12, 1951 Brooklyn, NY. John was a Stationary Engineer. John married 1895-1896 Helen ( Nellie, Ellen ) Rooney b. Aug. 25, 1870 in Pennsylvania, d. March 4, 1914 Brooklyn, NY. Helen was the dau. of Michael Rooney and Anna O'Toole Rooney. John and Helen Redmond had 7 children, William, Alice, Eugene, Anna, Edward, Francis, and John. After Ellen's death in 1914, John married Ellen's 1st cousin, Anna McGovern, who was living with them in 1910 according to census info. My wife's great grandfather was William Redmond born abt 1840 in England, who married Catherine Keogh born 1841 in England. She died April 23,1927 and is buried in Queens, NYC.
