The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, April 13, 1905

JAMES SULLIVAN, who has served as section foreman on the C.B. & Q. for the last 36 years, has severed his connection with the company, sold his property in Chariton, and expects to leave Monday for Seattle, Wash., where he will reside in the future. His wife and his sons JOHN and WILLIE, will accompany him. A daughter, MRS. AGNES ANDERSON, and two sons, JAMES and THOMAS, will remain in Chariton. There are also two other daughters, MRS. MARY REDMOND of Grand Island, Neb., and MRS. MARGARET SMITH of South Omaha. MR. SULLIVAN has resided in Chariton for 34 years and he has lost but two months' time during his term of service for the railroad company, and that was on the occasion of his trip to Seattle last fall. He knows of but one man who can boast of a larger term of continuous service on the road. He is one of our best citizens and has innumerable friends in Chariton who will regret the removal of himself and his excellent family from our midst, but all will wish them unlimited prosperity in their new home in the far west.
