The F.A. Requarth Co. in Dayton, Ohio produced a Boys Brigade Gun in the early 1900’s as a drill gun for military schools. There were two models, A and B, both made of wood except for the trigger guard and firing mechanism and measuring about 48” long. The Model A allowed for the attachment of a standard bayonet. One collector wrote that he was certain that the guns were produced for training during the Civil War.
