The F.A. Requarth Co. in Dayton, Ohio produced a Boys Brigade Gun in the early 1900’s as a drill gun for military schools. There were two models, A and B, both made of wood except for the trigger guard and firing mechanism and measuring about 48” long. The Model A allowed for the attachment of a standard bayonet. One collector wrote that he was certain that the guns were produced for training during the Civil War. We have no records, other than the recollection of family members that we manufactured the guns at the turn of the century.
