hello,
i found your info on the reuter name very interesting. that's the first i have heard of that. my reuters came from bossweiler, pfalz, bayern, and i doubt there is any
connection. however, i do have a missing relative who was
last heard of in new york so maybe you have seen something
about him in your research.
my great grandfather was franz peter reuter, b. 1814. he
and his brother lorenz, b. 1820, came to new york in 1840.
family history says they were jewelry salesmen.
franz eventually moved to mississippi and changed his name
to francis rider. lorenz may have changed his to lawrence
rider. francis had no news of his brother after he moved
and we really don't know what happened to him.
have you seen anything about someone with this name?
