The name was originally De Rhoad and it was dropped when coming to america, also I have been told that origination wise that people names were what they did for a living and that some of the rhoad family were highway men, never been able to confirm that one though. :0) I am Richard J. Rhoad s daughter (died 1979) I am trying to do a little tracking myself, if anyone has info would appreciate it.
