While searching for my 4Xgrgrandfather, George Rhodes who
came to America from England in 1745, I ran across a George
in Middlesex County, VA. Couldn't connect my line to this Rhodes but did see a report that some of the Middlesex Rhodes moved into Orange County, NC. Some of these Rhodes
were also known to have settled in eastern NC. Have you
looked for your Robert in this family line?
They came to America in the early 1600's from England and
the early family names were Christopher and Henry. This
Rhodes line moved from NC to Spartanburg County, SC and
some of them later moved to TN.
Good luck on you search. My later Rhodes line settled in
south western NC and I have a good deal on them but haven't run across a Robert.
