Who are John's parents? Where is he at in 1840 census? Who are Mary's parents? Is there Cherokee heritage? Are there anyone on the rolls?
The older sons said that John was born in Tennessee. Another listing said John's parents were born in SC...
I would assume the younger the person is in the census the age would be more correct....Just Like the spelling of Hias and Hyatt....and family staying together......Some of the young people could not read or write yet.
Rhodes, Rhoads, Roads, the brothers spelled their names differently or the numerators spelled it as they heard it.
