Re: Rhoades/Rhodes/Roads of Marlborough, NH Depending on the records, this name is often spelled a multitude of ways. My family's official spelling is Rhoades.

I started my family search a couple years ago, got burnt out from so many dead ends so gave it up for 2 years to hopefully come back and find some fresh new leads on information on the Rhoades (Rhodes, Roads) Family of Cheshire County, New Hampshire.

I would like to find out where they are buried, wills, old documents, possibly pictures, what their occupations were, really anything that will tell me what kind of people they were.

Ebenezer Rhoades (Rhodes) married Sarah Page 12 Mar 1767 in Walpole. I can not find where he is buried or any documention on who his parents were. His marriage record is recorded as follows:

Date of Marriage 12 Mar 1767
Bride Sarah Page Birth date 16 Jun 1745 Birthplace Walpole Parents Thomas Page Sarah Page
Groom Ebenezer Roads Age Blank Residence Stoughtonham No other Info was provided.

According to the History of Marlborough by Charles A Bemis, he died 04 Jul 1825. But where is he burried? Does the Meeting House Cemetary still exist? Could he be buried there?

The next generation I would like to know about is his son Libieus (Libbeus) Rhoades born 10 Apr 1791 in Marlborough married Relief Ball 30 Dec 1801 daug of Daniel & Lydia (Smith) Ball. I can not find the record of his death, where he was buried nor a will. I wonder what his occupation was???

Next is his son, Stillman Rhoades born 29 Oct 1809 in Marlborough. At some point as a young man he moved to St George, New Brunswick. I wonder what would make him move from New Hampshire to New Brunswick Canada in that day and time? In Canada he married Mary Lee. She 10 Feb 1857. He remarried and moved to Eastport his new wife and children from his wife Mary. He died 19 Oct 1878 Eastport, ME.

Next is his son Charles Rhoades who was married to Eulalia Walton, they married and lived all their lives in Eastport, ME. They had 16 kids. My great grandmother, Amy Edith Rhoades born 05 Apr 1900 is one of their kids.

If anyone has any information you think I might be interested in, please, please contact me, and if I can share with you any of the documents I have on these generations of Rhoades, please contact me, would love to share with you what I have gathered up to this point in my research.

Thanks for reading my post, and hope you can help me in my search!

Sincerely, Michelle Davis
