Thanks for your reply. My Josiah is listed on census records as being born in PA, as were his parents, whose names I don't know. I may be incorrect in surmising a connection to Fayette or surrounding counties as he may have moved west to Keokuk County, Iowa before he met his wife, Martha Britton(who had been in Washington and Fayette Counties). The connection with such a prominent name in our nation's history has to be a very exciting part of your family treasure to have found! Regards, Matthew Rhoads Moore
